Family Night is Friday


STEM Family Night returns on Friday, Feb. 1 from 5-7pm.

The cost to attend is $1 per person or $5 per family, whichever is less:)


Activities will occur in the STEM classrooms, including the gym.
We will offer board games, karaoke, Nintendo Switch, arts & crafts, open gym, students vs adults volleyball, Jenga, and blanket making.
Food for sale is to include pizza, water, chips, and bake sale items.
There will also be a basket raffle, with baskets donated by the PTA!

No School Wednesday


A message sent on behalf of Superintendent Maleyko-

Due to extreme temperatures and wind chills all Dearborn Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.

If weather conditions persist as predicted, the district will most likely remain closed. However, a decision on the status of school for Thursday will be made at a later time and most likely shared with the community on Wednesday.

Please be careful and dress appropriately if you are headed outside.

After-School Activities are Cancelled

Due to extremely cold temperatures and wind chills, all after school activities for Tuesday, January 29, 2019 are cancelled.  This includes all parent meetings, concerts, athletic competitions and practices.  Adult and Community Education classes will also be closed this evening (1/29/19).
Kids Club and All Day Pre-School will remain open until the normal ending hour of 6 p.m.
Learning Center will remain open until 3:15 for those who can’t be picked up right after school. 

DCMST Parent Meeting Cancelled Tonight


Due to severe weather predicted for this evening, the DCMST Meeting for parents of prospective students scheduled for tonight will be cancelled.

We will reschedule for a later date!

Tuesday Health Class

On Tuesday, January 29th male students will attend Health Class with Mr. Theisen and female students will attend their electives. Musicians don’t forget your instruments.

School Improvement Visit Volunteers Needed

A message from the school district:
In continuing with our initiative of including parents in our school improvement visits, we encourage parent volunteers to sign up.
This form will remain open for approximately one week through Feb 1, 2019.
Parents will be notified of the building location one hour prior to the visit through both a phone call and email.

Stop-Motion Animation Club


Stop-Motion Animation Club is about to begin again! Staring Tuesday, February 19 and running for 5 weeks, the club meets from 2:30 – 3:30 in Ms. Fryzel’s room.

Alex Thomas worked for the Cartoon Network and brings his expertise to our students. If you participated last year, he has all NEW lessons for this year.

PE Health Unit


STEM parents,

Next week all students will start a Health Unit in PE class.

Attached is the opt out form, but it is strongly advised that your child learn the lessons provided from this class. Please only fill out the form if you do not want your child to attend health class.

All topics covered in class are listed on the form (example: Nutrition and Fitness.)

DCMST Informational Meeting for Parents


The DCMST informational meeting for parents is January 29, 2019 from 6-7 pm in the MBCC lecture hall at the Heights Campus.

This meeting is for parents of students currently in 8th grade and enrolled in Algebra 1.

We will discuss the program and requirements for students to be invited for the incoming DCMST freshman class for Fall 2019.
