With the holiday season approaching we here at STEM wish to give back to the community and to those in need through charity. We have chosen two amazing events that are currently in full swing here at STEM.
First, we have a canned food drive running now until December 14th. The food will be donated to a local charity called The High Five Hideout located in Inkster. This group provides positive activities for the youth of the surrounding area and helps to provide what they can for families that have fallen on hard times. We will be accepting canned goods until December 14th that can be delivered to the box next to the wood bench near the front door of STEM or to Mr. Kerry’s room. We are hoping to donate around 500 cans of food which equals to about 2.5 cans per student.
Second, the students of STEM were given donation boxes for Pennies for Patients on Tuesday. This charity benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and runs for two weeks ending on december 11th. The boxes are like small piggy-banks and the idea behind the events is to donate that pocket change you have at the end of the day or maybe just laying around on your nightstand.
We truly appreciate the support that each and every one of you give to us here at STEM and we want to spread that support to those in need this holiday season.
Thank you,
STEM Student Council
