Due to the increasing amount of tardies between classes DURING the school day, and numerous discussions between staff, administrators, and students, STEM will implement a new tardy policy beginning Monday, Nov. 26.
(This does NOT include tardies to school in the morning:)
When a student is tardy to class, the teachers will track them on a school-wide spreadsheet. Tardies can be accumulated throughout the school day.
When a student reaches their third tardy, they will be asked to make a phone call home to notify a parent as a warning.
After the fourth tardy, the student will receive an hour-long Friday detention. The teacher that assigns the detention will call home to notify parents of the detention date.
Detentions will take place in Ms. Fryzel’s room on Fridays from 2:15-3:15 pm.
