Today is May 1st, and many STEM families are calling “Mayday!” and looking for a lifeline. Could you be the family to save them and help with carpool? Are you in need of a carpool daily or occasionally?
After hearing from a number of our families, STEM administration and PTA are working together to create a carpool list for interested families to connect.
Carpools are cool! They are a great way to save time, gas and money. For STEM, they also ensure that students attend based on merit – not just their family’s ability to drive them twice a day. Carpools could also reduce traffic in the parking lot and improve safety. Will you show your school spirit and agree to consider being part of a carpool?
We will NOT provide home addresses or assign carpools. Our role is merely to provide contact information so families can make their own arrangements. We will ask for home elementary school and zip code to help families find others nearby.
Please sign up here.
We are asking current sixth and seventh grade families to sign up by May 15. Then when our new families “come aboard” at freshmen orientation, we will hopefully have a good list started to share with them and welcome them to the STEM community.
Everyone who signs up will be emailed contact information for other parents in their area. For this first round, the lists are not expected to go out until late May. After that, new emails will go out shortly after new parents join in that area.
Thanks for considering participating in this important effort!
