STEM Middle School

Boat Races for 6th grade

This year at STEM the 6th graders have been building cardboard boats in STEM Apps class, and they are ready to be launched!

The boat races for Mr. Segerstrom’s STEM Apps class will be held on Monday, April 23 from 3:30-4:30 at the Dearborn High School pool.

This event is NOT required since students will have to arrange their own transportation to DHS. Not attending will NOT affect your grade:)

Parents are welcome to stay and watch the event. Please also arrange for a ride home if your parents are not staying.

Please be prepared to get wet! Bring a towel and a change of clothing. There will be an area for us to change clothing (restrooms or locker rooms) and bathing suits are not required, but NO shoes are allowed in the pool. Life jackets will be available, but you may bring your own if you prefer.

You may also want to bring any patching materials in case your boat is damaged in transit.

The pool at Dearborn High is located at the rear of the building. Drive all the way around to the back and there is additional parking. You can also enter through the main entrance and walk straight back toward the pool and gymnasium.

If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Segerstrom at segersj@dearbornschools.org
